Equipment, sets, vehicles, crew: we carry them across the lagoon and land them where the truck can't reach. The crane vessels handle heavy, oversized loads — generators, set pieces, equipment — and the PVC covers, with rigid cabins on request, protect the load from rain and spray. Our crews know the canals, the tides and the loading docks of the historic centre.
Six vessels with crane
The boats productions ask for by name: twenty vessels, six with an onboard crane, PVC covers and rigid cabins on request. Catil II and Riccardo are the film workhorses; El Nini, the flagship, carries what no other boat can. We also have slimmer craft — Catilina, Rivollina and Oscarina — for quick runs through canals and lagoon.
Shoots do not wait. Neither do we.
Twenty vessels mean real redundancy: if one boat stops, another takes its place. The crews plan routes around the tides, so fog and high water become managed variables, not surprises that halt the set. When a shooting schedule can't move, knowing the boat will arrive is the difference that matters.
Aligned with the green protocols
Productions increasingly work within environmental protocols — Green Film in Italy, albert (BAFTA) internationally — that measure a production's footprint and reward those who reduce it. Transport is one of the heaviest items, and it is ours: Green Film requires a Transport Optimisation Plan, albert asks for documented carbon data along the chain.
We plan routes to cut empty runs, consolidate loads where possible and, on request, provide the data needed to calculate the footprint. Our environmental management system is ISO 14001-certified. The certification is earned by the production, not the supplier: we are the logistics partner that knows those protocols and helps you meet them.
We show the work, not the names of those who entrust it to us: for us discretion is a condition of the service, not a courtesy.
